From playing on the football field at The University of Michigan, to coaching his clients to become the best job candidate they can, James Logan has certainly tackled the concept of preparing for the next level of your career.
Last Tuesday, Hire Level Coaching, hosted its first open house at In the Black Suites in Downtown Detroit. Owner James Logan, gave the crowd of about 50 people a chance to ask those burning questions about how to create the perfect resume and prepare for your next job interview.
I think we all have attended a resume writing seminar or stepped into a career center at our colleges but none of us were really prepared for the real world when it came to writing a great resume.
James’s love for sports was clear in his delivery of information. The intensity, passion and sports analogies drew everyone into what he had to say.
Not only did he give great information but he explained it in a way that we could understand. I had to think twice about my own resume.
He gave tips such as keeping track of the RESULTS that you have produced at your current job, realize that your resume is a snap shot of you, like an advertisement, and that your cover letter is like a persuasive essay about yourself , just to name a few.
It’s very refreshing and encouraging to see a young African-American man working hard to uplift and educate his own community. So often we find when people have found success in a certain area that they do not want to share their valuable information.
Hire Level Coaching is certainly something that any professional at all levels can use as a resource to continue to grow and highlight their professional skills.
